About this Engineering Resume Example
The headline of this engineering resume sample provides the reader a snapshot of George’s experience: Offering Advanced Engineering Abilities, Along with Track Record of Success in Meeting and Exceeding Both Customer and Employer Expectations in High-Demand Environments. This statement accomplishes two things: (1) gives the reader an indication of the successes to expect as they continue to read the resume and (2) adds to the overall layout of the resume by ensuring it has a unique feel and doesn’t ‘read’ like every other resume out there.
In addition, I included a Technical Summary in the introduction so the interviewer has a good grasp of his competencies from the get-go. It is important not to overwhelm the reader with technical jargon, even if they are familiar with the terms. Therefore, if you have many technical skills, you may want to include some in your cover letter. Of note, I added gray to give the resume a bit of color to draw attention to the technical summary. (Please note: This strategy worked for George and your situation may differ. Contact me regarding my resume service and learn how I can create a one-of-a-kind engineering resume for you.)
Though I included keywords in the beginning of the resume, I also included them in the Professional Experience section. This is because the more core competencies that are included, the better. So don't limit where you include professional strengths. As long as the information you provide reads natural then your good to go.
